Substance abuse and addiction plagued Aerosmith, however, and the early 80's saw a rapid decline for the band. Reborn in 1984, Aerosmith quickly re-established their claim to their title of "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band" and have remained at the top of the charts with each new album.
